Today is my last day ever as an au pair. It's been a week filled with mixed emotions. On one hand, I'm so excited to be done. I've been working hard and I'm exhausted, and I'm ready for an adventure. I'm excited to go and be in a new place. I'm excited to reward all my hard work with three months of travel. I'm excited to be out on my own. But on the other hand, it's always hard to say goodbye.

I feel like it's been no time at all since I moved in with the Newcombs. It's been a hectic five months - they've been busy and I've been busy, and the time has flown by. At times I've felt overwhelmed, like the boys could not be ready for me to leave quick enough. But yesterday was my last night with my host family, and the boys definitely showed how much they're going to miss me. We had a delicious meal out at a Japanese restaurant and they requested stories and cuddle time when we got home, before bed. We lay there with my arms around them, and Harry and Oli asked me where I was going to live after I moved out of their house.

Oli: So Liz, did you decide where you're going to live yet? Australia or Hawaii?

Liz: I haven't decided yet. Where do you think I should live?

Oli: Obviously Australia!

Liz: Oh yeah? Do you think I should move back to Brisbane, or try somewhere new?

Oli: I think you should move back to Brisbane. You could move back into our house!

Liz: That sounds like a great idea! But I think Australia is going to kick me out when my visa expires.

Harry: Well, you could tell the airport you're Australian and coming back from New Zealand, and they would definitely let you stay!

Liz: You don't think they'd hear my American accent and know I wasn't Australian?

Harry: No way, you sound just like us.

If only it were that simple!

Oli, me, Harry - I'm gonna miss these little dudes!
